Expressing emotion. Wtf happened? Facts about or not so distant history you many not know that probably should be repopularized. It used to be considered brave and courageous and of good moral standing to express, celebrate, share and spend time coping with grief. Loss, change, death, all of it. It was in vogue to actually cope with your shit instead of bottling it up. It was also considered antisocial and unacceptable to not share in your grief with those around you. Withholding true emotion was considered a sign of mistrust or dislike. It used to be considered necessary to discuss emotion with your partner. Counseling each other about life issues, past hurts, present problems etc was considered quite necessary for the health and survival of a family. You didnt go therapy or destroy your family, you simply suited up and dealt with your shit. Together. What a novel concept!
