Extreme Weather in USA on Thursday, 27 November, 2014 at 04:06 (04:06 AM) UTC. *Tuesdays strong storms brought more than heavy rains. Strong winds moved across central Florida and did damage to some homes on Onaka Drive in Orange County. Ripped and mangled pieces of metal scattered across a back lawn were from the covered porch belonging to Nancy Dodges next door neighbor. My first thought was, Where did the porch go? said Dodge. Dodge said she came home during Tuesdays storm to find the porch had been ripped off the foundation and flipped up on the roof. A portion of the homes roof was peeled back as well. A man inside the home told Channel 9s Jeff deal that it sounded like a sardine can being opened. He said the new roof was installed just three weeks ago. The ceiling inside the home was waterlogged and had to be taken down. The mobile home is surrounded by homes other just like it, but it was the only one that suffered extensive damage, leaving neighbors believing it was a strong, brief gust of wind that blew through. Three other nearby mobile homes had a small amount of damage. Dodge said a woman in one of the damaged homes said she was scared as the wind came through and took shelter in her bathtub.
