Eyal Haddad sent me this video and I felt the need to share it, - TopicsExpress

Eyal Haddad sent me this video and I felt the need to share it, less because of Ms. Glicks response, true as it may have been, but because I was so angered by what was said in the first place. Israel should consider itself complimented because a double standard is applied to it? Israel should insist on it more!? How stupid does he think we are? A double standard is a form of discrimination, it means youre not referring to what Ive done but rather to who I am when you respond to my actions. Who in the world would consider discrimination to be a compliment? Who in the world would insist they SHOULD BE discriminated against? How stupid does this argument presume Israelis to be, that if you just flatter our egos a little, we would not only ignore this form of discrimination but indeed insist we be subjected to it? Im not even gonna get into the orientalist attitude implied by this argument, where the Palestinians are just too primitive to have the same standard applied to them, which is no less insulting and racist, because Ms. Glick pointed that part out. This is why, despite the fact that I have no problem admitting that there are things that are wrong with the Israeli governments policy and that the occupation is a bad thing and we should find a way to end it because the current situation is not good for either us or the Palestinians, this is why I can also understand the people who say that a lot of international criticism is actually antisemitism in disguise. Not all of it, but some of it, and this argument is a perfect example.
