Eyelash extensions explained Eyelash extensions create a fuller and longer look to natural lashes and can be applied for special occasions or for day-to-day wear. Individual Synthetic or Mink lashes are attached to the natural lash one by one. This creates a natural and darker appearance of abundant lashes and you wont have to use mascara at all. The black adhesive gives the darkening look of mascara that you want without any clumping. Eyelash extensions benefits Darker lashes with more volume Increased length Eyes appear open and lifted No need for mascara Provide a youthful appearance How long do the extensions last? In most cases they will last from 3 to 4 weeks without the need for a fill. If you choose to have regular fills, however, they can last for months. It all depends on your individual lashes and where they are on their growth cycle. Natural lashes usually begin to fall out once every 40 to 90 days prior to new lashes growing in. They dont all fall out at the same time however; usually 1 to 5 eyelashes are shed on a daily basis. A maintenance touch-up and refill will be required 2 to 3 weeks after your initial appointment. Its recommended that you refrain from using mascara when youre wearing the artificial lashes. If mascara is applied, it can cause the new lashes to separate from the natural ones. Most clients put away their mascara altogether since the eyelash extensions provide a natural mascara look to the eyes. Taking care of your eyelash extensions Your extensions will last longer if you treat them gently - especially when you are cleansing the area around your eyes. After the extensions have first been applied you should not wet your eyes for 24 hours. During this time you should also avoid saunas and steam rooms. Youll be given an eyelash wand that can be used to brush your eyelashes to prevent them from clumping. We recommend using a foaming cleanser to help prevent a buildup of make-up protein, dust and natural oils that your body produces. During sleep, try to avoid rubbing your eyes or face on your pillow since this can also be damaging to the lashes. Dont try to remove or pull on the eyelashes by yourself. If you decide that you no longer want to wear the eyelash extensions, we will gladly remove them safely for you. Do not change or perm your eyelashes and use makeup remover that is oil-free with a cotton swap to remove any makeup around your eyes. If you do decide to use mascara, make sure that you dont use anything that is waterproof. This can lead to a faster separation of the extensions from your natural eyelashes.
