"Eyes straining at his own emaciated reflection, Todd’s thoughts - TopicsExpress

"Eyes straining at his own emaciated reflection, Todd’s thoughts drifted back to the night before, when the monster had convinced him that cutting through the tendons in both wrists would fix everything. Tears began falling from Todd’s eyes, remembering the scene, hoping that it would abate, but it didn’t, and he found himself spitting into the sink so that he wouldn’t choke on the toothpaste. He wanted to try again, but he feared, like before, the acid in his stomach might interfere, forcing him, once again, into the corner by the tub. However, there was another reason why he refrained, and the reality of it, though senseless, brought more fear than gazing down at the shallow cuts around his fingers and wrists: he would miss the monster."
