Eyo, check out this poem I made for school talking about my opinion of our nation: Of all the places, And all the races, I never expected it to cease, With such a strong foundation, A memorable presentation, You compromised your standards for peace You swore to the Lord, Clapped your hands and stomped the floor, When the new nation America came to be, For the freedom to worship the King, Have religious liberty, And not be held in captivity Even more so, You signed a declaration to show, That all men were created equally, Of every race and gender and creed, All men were able to be, A people who could say ‘I am free’ Then you added a clause, That said ‘One Nation Under God,’ To the Pledge of Allegiance to show your dignity, To fight for whom you serve, Through trial and pain and purge, For He would hold you up through everything But then came a man, Who said he had a plan, To change our nation bit by bit, To bring down what we brought up, To raze what we raised up, And crush our moral existence by the minute They chose him for his skin, Not for his faithfulness and then, That’s when your destruction came, You compromised your vow, Chose finding the middle ground, And now you are cursed for forsaking His name
