Ezra Chiloba, the new IEBC Chief Executive. Ezra has 10 years of experience in the democratic governance field. He has a strong grounding in electoral management, constitutional development, devolution, human rights and public sector management in general. He has demonstrable competence in strategic management, policy analysis, strategic leadership and negotiation. His experience is drawn from working with inter-governmental organizations, elections management bodies, constitutional commissions, government ministries, local and international civil society organizations and research institutions. At present, he is the Deputy Team Leader in charge of governance under a DFID-DANIDA programme, Drivers of Accountability Programme managed by DAI. He joined DAI after five successful years at UNDP Kenya where he supported the organization in mobilizing and managing project budgets amounting to USD 45 million. Other organizations he has worked for include the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights, Oxfam Novib, South Consulting Africa and Centre for Minority Rights Development. Ezra has substantive experience in donor coordination and engagement having managed different donor agreements including DFID, European Union, Netherlands, Finland, SIDA, CIDA, USAID, Italy, Slovak, Norway and Denmark. He is also a fellow at Policy House, a strategic management institution he helped found in 2008. Ezra holds an MA in Public Policy from the Central European University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Political Science at the University of Nairobi with his research focused on electoral institutions and democratization.
