F-E-A-R ~ False Evidence Appearing Real says one famous tele-evangelist, and Im about to agree with the message. Another quote from thatsame evangelist was Do it afraid. How many times has something that you desired to do something, only to find that little voice say, awh you cant do that So and so can do it; but not you, or any old thing to hold you back? Some call it the devil, some call it procrastination, and some even call it hust plain lazy. But I believe that its fear of the unknown Not knowing that we may succeed; Sometimes its the feeling of not knowing that feels safer than what if I fail, b/c that would hurt, and Id only be dissapointed. Well, Do it afraid!!! A little testimony here ~ I love the natural hair styles b/c Ive just grown to love the {no chemical straitner thing} and I truly wanted to learn how to do a box braid but was always afraid to attempt; it just looked too difficult. Id always had others to do that type braid some time ago, but really just wanted to know how to do it; not that Im going to right this minute; but I have the hair, so why not at least, Do it afraid? My prayer to God went something like this, Lord, my ancestors do it all of the time, and in my genealogy somewhere is the know how to do this; Ive taught myself to somewhat twist by Your help so why is this one so hard? Ive asked different ones how they do it, and Ive watched over and over; So why cant I do it? Then the thought came to me, honest to goodness; B/C youve been Americanized.. I said out loud, huh? Id grown up not with the African traditional Braiding, but a staighten comb and eventually perming/straigthening by chemicals, and now the natural braids and natural styles seem to be/are becoming more prevelant to some than the other..Myself being one... My mindset is changing. The Lord is so good!!! He began to remind me of His Greatness and His Promises!!! And All I had to do was to have faith as a grain of mustard seed, and the False Evidence Appearing Real became smaller d smaller, and Glory Be To God!!! A made a beautiful Perfect box braid!!! Hallalujah Jesus!!! I have a True King!!! And His Name Is Jesus!!!
