F.W. Fife is pleased to announce the upcoming publication of The Labyrinth House by Mark Rollins. This is an eerie, brilliant evocation of liminal spaces, at once real and phantasmagoric. F.W. Fife considers it important to bring forward writers whose work approaches the level of literary fiction. Mark Rollins is a great writer, but his imagination also must receive notice. The Labyrinth House is reminiscent of such mid-twentieth century confabulations as The Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, and the novels of Arthur C. Clark. Yet Rollins vision addresses the present no less than it does these historic landmarks of the science fiction genre. Architect Bradley Jensen is on a carefree hike with his fiance when he comes across a mysterious doorway. The door is wedged between two trees, as hardly makes sense. The doorway is open and Bradley believes that his fiance may have gone through it. He steps towards it and, almost unthinkingly, steps in. His wife to be is not there but the confused Bradley allows the door to shut behind him. When it does, it shuts forever! Bradley is now in the Labyrinth House. He meets a handful of others who are in the same predicament; they cant escape, though a hundred or more years might pass. They dont age just as the house does not age or suffer from disrepair. Are they in hell, and is this some trick being played by a cruel God? Bradley is determined to escape, though it drive him mad in the attempt. If he wishes to get back to his fiance, Bradley Jensen must work with the others. He must also face some questions eternal as the labyrinth. The Labyrinth House is scheduled for publication in June, 2014.
