F.Y.I.- GENERATORS DURING POWER OUTAGES I just saw on the evening news, that if you are using a generator during a power outage, do not have any power surge protectors plugged in. On the news it showed a couple that lost their house due to fire, thank God there dog woke them up, they saved theirselves however the dog didnt survive. They are warning people to not use power surge protectors, when using a generator during a power outage. If you have any things plugged into power surge protectors, do not keep the item plugged into the power surge protector. The power surge protector was the item that was on fire in this instance. Just a little information, to keep your family and loved ones safe.
