F.Y.I. Councilmember Cedillo Hosts Public Safety Improvements Community Workshops You may be interested in these workshops regarding safety on North Figueroa Street. Bike lane promoters have regularly tried to spin these efforts into a platform to advocate for road diets where car lanes are removed to make way for bike lanes. Councilman Cedillo has been criticized, some say unfairly, for not buying into the bicycling advocates safety fix-all of bike lane/road diets. They will probably be at these workshops again pushing for bike lanes/road diets for North Figueroa which would, if enacted, congest this major thoroughfare and divert shoppers away from Highland Park businesses. If you can, you may want to attend these meetings to make sure your voice is not shouted down by self serving and short sighted cycling promoters.
