F5 freedom fighters Tatak Marcos? Nice joke Bongoloidism Gang THE TRUTH: Philippine Air Force received 19 F-5A; single seat and three F-5B; two seat aircraft in 1965–1967. In 1989, the PAF received three ex-Taiwanese F-5A and one F-5B. In the 1990s,at least eight ex-South Korean F-5A and two Jordanian F-5A were acquired. All F-5 planned upgrades were abandoned in 2008 due to failure of both legislative branches to provide a legalized budget, since national defense policies received negative connotations & was unpopular among both lower house & senate legislators. Economic & Political instability made maintenance & buying of replaceable parts cost soar above budget.The Philippines decommissioned its F-5A/B fleet in 2005. The squadron of F-5 A/B(19 A, 3 B) freedom figters first acquired by the government from the United States on AUG. 27 1965 under the Philippine-US military agreement. source: PAF official website-- paf.mil.ph/
