*** FABULOUS AVERAGE SAFER *** Porkchop is a silly name for a fabulous dog. Please read her glowing volunteer comments and help us save her life tonight. Dashes of bright orange are lighting up Porkchops navy blue kennel and catch my attention. I stop and see two lively copper eyes peering insistently into mine. Our gazes lock. Porkchop starts to wiggle and do her dance, tail cheering, a big smile illuminating her engaging face. She is a cute brindle with a shiny chocolate and caramel coat and amazing ears that flip and flop on her head when she runs. Porkchop pulls like ten horses. A kennel is not for her. She is enthusiastic, full of energy and has a lot to share with her caretaker, more than I can take…She is a little unfocused, wants to do so many things and does not know where to begin. Time to channel our activities in order for both of us to enjoy each others company. Treats. Hum…Porkchop loves them. She wants to jump for them. No way..Sit. Her eyes glitter. She is ready to listen and sits. She even gives a paw. She deserves the treat that she takes gently from my hand. Free time in a pen. A tennis ball…Porkchop really likes that and she runs and jumps for it. Now we are talking, now we are having fun and a real good time together. After a while, Porkchop s batteries go down. She is ready for a one to one, cuddle time on my lap and in my arms. Porkchop, found as a stray, was owned for few months , lived and played with cats and is known to be friendly to all, very active and knows a few commands. I suspect that her former family did not have much time for a young dog, mostly with the arrival of a new baby and decided to leave Porkchop into our care. She was well fed, though, is healthy looking, good natured, the base for a new owner to build on and create a most delightful forever companion.
