FACE ABOVE WATER 3 (True life story)... We all mustered in front of the school gate, there I saw many other trainees like me,I cant really differentiate between a boy and a girl,we all look alike with our abola... So as about 9am,the school gate was opened wide, everyone rushed inside with their heavy loads, for some of us,thats our second time entering the gate so the environment wasnt new to me again, some it was their first and only God knows what ran through their minds, fear? Sadness? Horror or what? The first thing you sight after entering the school gate is a big field,in it is a 9feet wall, balance bar, double pit hole, another big pit,a monkey bar, barb wire obstacle and all sort of dangerous play objects lying there on the obstacle ground. That was the first place they took us to,we sat down there on the grass in our village attire we all wore to the place, soon after,we heard people chanting, crying from the gate coming inside, those who came late that morning. They were on a squat as usual with heavy loads on their heads frog jumping and shouting another mumu don come from Adamawa state and others from each state shouted the line with the state they are from, we watched them from the obstacle ground where we sat,it was so funny we couldnt laugh at them, they were flogged as they were frog jumping, some collapsed, some couldnt even move again, some were crying and some ran back outside and never came back. Some came with books, laptops and reading materials, some thought they came to a university,I saw rich kids and poor kids, the place was a mixture of all kind of beings... Some came with long letters from the president,Governors,Senators and from other big people who holds one big appointment in the government, some didnt even come for recruitment but we all met there... We sat according to our states ,later we were moved to the admin block to cross check our credentials and materials we brought to the training school... The officers checking were stoned faced, and they waste no time in sending some people back home right from the DAY 1,the moment you are being cleared, they direct us to a lady to randomly pick a division(hostel) for us,we have 8 divisions...and they all have funny names,1.Enyimiri division(they wear pink),2.Ologbo division(always in green),3.Damisa division(ash color),4.Beecroft division(Yellow all times),5.Dolphin Mira(the girls, they are all shared into all other divisions with different colors but they stay together in one hostel),6.Dolphin Rima(Orange color, thats my division),7.Victory division(the chelsea boys, lol, always in blue) and lastly Aradu division wearing the color red.... Who remember my friend David And the other guy we boarded the same vehicle together from Lagos? David got Ologbo division while the other Guy Segun got Victory... They asked us to submit our Garri at the admin block, they seized all our Garri o!,so from morning till around 6pm that day,I had Garri in my stomach, the one I soaked with David the previous night,I was so tired and hungry but still kept on moving... They gave us new mattresses,Pillow and Blanket at the admin block and I moved to my new home down the road Dolphin Rima division... I saw some instructors in front of the division and they asked me to come,I couldnt stand and look them in the face,I sat on the floor before they even asked me to,I know how its been since I came in almost 24hrs ago...they collected my phones, atm cards and my name was documented with the three men, they are assigned with dolphin rima division alone, they will be our divisional instructors for that months we will spend there. So I took my bags inside with all other materials and I entered Cabin 5 straight away, the down bunks were all occupied so I have no choice than to climb up,we were asked to change to our new wears, white vest and blue shorts with brown canvas.. We were marched to the galley(dinning hall) a bit far from the hostel, perhaps there is now walking or trecking in training school,we were asked to jog from point A to point B...see wahala....so we entered the dining hall,we were served one kind Eba with egusi water soup, the instructors there gave us 10 count to finish the food,oh my! I finished it o! In three seconds sef,I was so hungry... We arranged each other outside after the meal and doubled back to the hostel,as fresh civilians, our legs didnt go together but will you blame us? We are new to everything... On our way going back,we met two Ahois in mufty and.... #To be continued!
