FAILURE OF TINUBU TO BUILD A YORUBA CHRISTIAN IS APCS ACHILLES HEELS By Ena Ofugara. If Fashola were Christian, Buharis odds would have been raised a few notches. If Tinubu and the APC had built ONE CHRISTIAN...JUST ONE, by now two months to election, the VP position would not be such a worry. However, over time, in all the states, Tinubu has chosen a particular religion over another. Now he has no top Christian that he can count on his popularity, and then loyalty. Give it to Tinubu. This man is a genius. Even before I thought to pen this down, he has gone about solving this by choosing Ambode. I guess bloggers like us, ( Tinubu having bought the print media,) would not let Tinubu and APC getaway with more clear show of a tilt towards a religion. Buhari as its flag bearer is already like making the star and crescent and black flag of Isis and Boko Haram, APCs logo. Already David Mark, Theophilus Danjuma and Fulani herdsmen killings of Middle-Belters, plus PDP long standing has already occluded the middle-belt from APC. Ohanaeze has practically adopted Goodluck Azikiwe Ebele Jonathan as a son indeed. The south-south has her son running for president, thus the APC, knowing that they sit pretty Northwest especially, must plan to make the Yoruba west its own or pack up shop. Herein lies the dilemma. Again TINUBU HAS NOT BUILT ANY YORUBA CHRISTIAN TO NATIONAL PROPORTIONS, WHO IS LOYAL TO HIM. It is so sad that Buhari and Tinubu are ready to risk the Muslim-Muslim ticket, but for the certainty of loss as told them by their ally Obasanjo. The alternatives to the Yoruba vice presidency are piss-poor in truth. Oshiomole is as unpopular in Benin as can be. He has even tried to go join the PDP as Muazu revealed. The powers in PDP that had broken ranks and supported him seem to have withdrawn that support and gone back to PDP, and Oshiomole has also lost the goodwill of the people upon which he rode. They know he is not as pro-labour now as he was when he was NLC chairman. It is not that he is not popular, but no longer is he seen as a man with the magic wand of change.Amaechi has served APC well. No one man has reduced the popularity of the president more than he. He has lined up even the very anti-Buhari Wole Soyinka in his corner. He has not only funded the APC, but after Tinubu, truth be told, this man has led the APC. His funds have been the very fuel of the APC. We understand that for financial reasons, Buhari, in not finding a suitable Yoruba Christian for the position, in not wanting another paper tiger like Bakare... all-mouth-no-following has chosen Amaechi as VP. However, with Amaechis continued antagonism of the Ibos with statements about Biafra, it is doubtful he is beloved in the East. Then his anti-PIB stance and the fact that he is fighting GEJ, a south-south president, clearly APC knows the south-south will not choose VP over president. The mire is thus where will APC find a vice president for a Buhari that is almost fatally flawed? Unlike other aspirants, Buharis vice president is central to his ambition. His past stance and present statements continue to make who his vice president is very central to his argument. Will Tinubu allow personal ambition lead him into making himself Vice Presidential aspirant? Will he allow his protege Fashola be Buharis vice and incur the wrath of Christians? Is there a Christian they can use, that has true following, preferably a pastor to buffer the effect of Mullah Muhamadu Buhari? Soon enough, we will find out. However, no matter the vice president chosen, TeamPDP/TeamGEJ will continue to enjoy showing Buhari for the Islamist many swear he is.
