FAIT BUILDER One of the biggest challenges many of us face when it comes to our faith is maintaining confidence that the purposes of God will prevail in a world that seems more godless, lost, and defiant than ever. What hope do we have in such times? Can our faith actually survive against such an epidemic of evil? More than that, can we thrive and prevail in spite of the persistent godlessness around us? The answer is Yes! Jesus told His disciples, “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). He was trying to encourage them while at the same time prepare them for that lay ahead. No matter what they endured at the hands of the world, in the end, they—and their message—would prevail. The same is true for us. Regardless of how things appear from time to time, if we walk steadfastly by faith and keep our hearts and minds focused on Jesus, we will be victorious. That is the Lord’s promise to us.
