FAITH THAT FAILS Last night I was talking to my son-in-law in Brazil. I was telling him about some problems that I was having in my family. One of the things he said that helped me was that what I needed to look at and hold on to is faith. Dont let the situation make me lose my faith. So this morning I got up early and started to pray again. I remembered what my son-in-law said. Think about faith. Faith will take you through the trail. I dont want to fail at anything. But the only way to grow and become better at what I do, is to be tested. Life to me is one big test. Sometimes it becomes one trial after another. The trials cannot be put on hold until I am ready. They come no matter what. The only thing that helps me when I become overwhelmed is to seek the Lord in His word. These verses helped me today. Luke 22:31-32 Jesus speaks to Peter [Simon} 31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” ...................... Faith that fails leads each of us away from God. Jesus said, And when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren. First we are tried. That is like being sifted. Second if we are not careful and full of faith, we lose our faith at the moment of trial. Third thing I noticed was Jesus prayed for Simon. Jesus is praying for me right now. That my faith will not fail. I really needed to hear that. Jesus is praying for each of us in our times of need. I will fail myself and others at times. I need to hold on to my faith in God. It is not the trial that is so tough. It is being left with that hopeless feeling and that lack of faith. I feel so lost when I have lost my faith in God in the middle of a heavy trail. So I go back to Gods word. Rom 10:17 Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Faith in God is like an anchor in a roaring sea storm. It is like a submerged rock on a sea shore. It cannot me moved. Faith moves mountains. But faith itself is a rock that cannot be moved by the storms of life. Amen for today RTK
