FAKE RIFLE CAUSES CONCERN AT BUENA HIGH (Monday 09-23-13 at 8:05 AM) A fake rifle prompted some concern at Buena High School in Ventura Monday morning shortly after 7 AM. Ventura police say a student who belongs to the honor guard brought his wooden rifle back to school in a box after using it to perform at a football game over the weekend. Police say someone saw a portion of it sticking out of the box and took it for the real thing and called police. A number of officers immediately responded to the campus in the area of Wake Forest and Telegraph Road. Arriving buses were diverted as officers investigated the report. It was determined to be a false alarm and there was no danger. The incident was over within a half hour.
