FALL FORUM - OCTOBER 24 & 25 in Columbia, SC The 2013 Fall Forum is a meeting you won’t want to miss. The South Carolina Grantmakers Network is bringing Leslie Crutchfield of FSG to speak. She’s top of her field in the concepts of catalytic philanthropy, donors doing innovative work with their tools of funding, social capital, and collective impact. Her recent co-authored book, Do More Then Give: The Six Practices of Donors Who Change the World, examines catalytic philanthropy: how donors who have gone beyond basic check writing have created results in their communities or around problems they are trying to address. Crutchfield’s Thursday sessions will focus on this topic and give participants an opportunity to consider what embracing catalytic philanthropy could mean for South Carolina and their organization. Speakers and presentations for the forum are a broad spectrum of topics including organizational change, new funding models, best practices for nonprofit policies and procedures, and peer discussions. The planning committee has also worked to incorporate time to network and connect with each other. We encourage you to bring as many of your board members and staff as possible. Registration for two representatives from each member foundation is included as a benefit of membership. Additional attendees’ from member foundations registration fees are $50 per person for the full conference or $35 per person for one day. Non-member foundation registration is $100 per person which includes the opportunity to participate in the December membership meeting at no charge.
