FAMILY & RELATIONSHIPS (PART 1) Personal relationships are paramount to personal fulfillment. Set time aside often to rediscover the people that mean most to you. After all, in this life, your loved ones are what really matter. Friends & family build and nourish your success. Imagine what it would be like to reach your ultimate goal and have no one there to share your triumph and success. One of the most rewarding things, each of us can do is the acknowledgement of others and their fears, to promote their happiness and sense of worth by our love, concern, laughter and tears. We were told in the Holy scriptures to “rejoice with those that rejoice and weep with them that weep”. What even makes family and relationships strong? COMMITMENT: putting the family first-after God of course and commitment to each member of the family. APPRECIATION: give them positive attention, focus on strengths and not the faults. Compliment others too by saying ‘one of the things I like best in you is…..’, ‘you make me happy when you…….’, ’you have real talent when it comes to….’, ‘you make me proud when you…..’. TIME TOGETHER: healthy family works together, play together, enjoy leisure times together and has time for God together. COMMUNICATION: please invest time necessary to share feelings together. If you don’t, you become strangers easily. RELIGION: Please pray together, as well as, pray for one another/pray for each other. Worshipping together is a bonding experience. SENSE OF HUMOUR: Happy families have fun together, play together and laugh together. Having a sense of humour during tense, troublesome moments defuses tension. SHARE RESPONSIBILITY: flexibility is an important trait in strong families especially when it comes to sharing responsibility and roles. COMMON INTEREST: the more that family members have in common, the more they tend to do together. SERVICE TO OTHERS: just as pond grows stagnant if there is no outlet, so does the family. Your own problems and worries can become insignificant when seen from the perspective of others who have so much less than you. SEEKING HELP: our best help is from the Lord because NO ONE receives anything EXCEPT it be given from above! Healthy families are not problem free; they just admit to problems and get help they need to solve them. Dan Wilcox said: I don’t care how POOR a man is; if he has a family he is rich! How do you treat your family today? How caring are you to them? How helpful are you to your family? What stake do you even have in your family? How is your family life? Do u miss them whenever you are away for any reason? Do they miss you too? You will definitely get the part two of this article next week by God’s grace (IF HE TARRIES). Remember IT IS WELL WITH YOU. No negotiation about this fact!
