FAN QUESTION! Please post this as anonymous. My step-son and daughter in law are parents to my grandchild. Neither one of them are what I would call great parents. The mother provides for him, but only really talks to him if he is acting up. The father screams at him, cusses him, and calls him names all the time. I have never seen any physical abuse, but suspect it is possible from the father. Not the mother. My husband and I are VERY upset about it. Our grandson is already showing signs of behavior problems and he is only two years old! He is very sullen and quiet, has tantrums like you can not even imagine, and is very aggressive. When WE watch him or he is around us, he is not like this at all unless his parents are around. When it is just him, he is a typical two year old and plays well with our other two year old grandchild when they are together. The problem is this, CPS has already been called on them by numerous people, and to no avail. There are no signs of neglect of physical abuse, and of course they act like the best parents in the world when someone does come out. We are pretty sure but not positive that the parents are involved with illegal substance abuse, but can not get CPS to even talk about drug testing them. So what do you do when the system will not help, and if WE try to intervene in any way, they keep him from us and wont let us see him, which hurts him as well as us. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
