FANS TO DECIDE GAMBO, OMOFOMAN, DANIEL FATE TODAY Voting will be concluded on who clinches the sixth ‘Wonder Goal Award’ prize this Saturday at midnight across the country by fans of NPFL/Glo Premier League. The latest three nominees for the award are home based Super Eagles star, Mohammed Gambo of Kano Pillars, Freedom Omofomwan of Warri Wolves and Bode Daniel of Crown FC. However, Omofomwan was nominated for his goal against Akwa United in a Week 31 fixture in Warri, Gambo got on the list for his Week 6 goal against FC Taraba in Kano, while Daniel was nominated for his free kick which was one of the three goals in the defeat of Nasarawa United by Crown at Ibadan. The Chief Operating Officer of the League Management Company (LMC), Salihu Abubakar said he has been delighted by the response of fans to the initiative. According to him, “Fans across the country have been taking advantage of the Wonder Goal on-line polling to express their preferences for some of the 2013/14 season’s goals showcased in the series.” The player whose goal gets the highest votes from fans voting online is usually rewarded with N100, 000 from which 50% is donated to a charity organization the player will nominate within the location of his club.
