FANTASTIC NIGHT FOR MONTY TONIGHT AT AFL VICTORIA COACHING AWARDS A super night for the Magpies tonight at the Gala AFL Vic Coaches Awards in Preston. Montmorency had the most Coaches nominated of any Footy Club in the entire Northern Region. The coverage over all ages and levels of Coaches was also magnificent. In Auskick Darren Rigg was a very worthy finalist in a very competitive group full of great volunteers. John Nixon was also a most worthy finalist in the younger age groups and his attitude and conduct is rightly admired by everyone in the footy community. The Montmorency Senior Coach Bryan Cole took out the prestigious award for Senior Coach of the Year. A fantastic result for Bryan and a testament to his great coaching skill and astute footy brain. The highlight of the evening (well for MJFC anyway!) was when our very own SuperCoach Celia Piesse took out the award for Female Coach of the Year. It was great to see Celia rewarded for her superb contribution. From the reaction of the 250 plus crowd it was clear that what Celia has accomplished is highly respected by all in the footy community.
