FAQ’s - We’ve been asked a number of questions and of course we’ve learned a lot over the years of doing so many haunted houses, so we are including some of the more relevant ones here. FIRST: We are sensitive to those who enjoy the Haunted Hollow experience, but maybe have some overwhelming fear or real challenge that might be of concern for them. We do use fog machines and strobe lights, and there are some pretty scary/startling events that are not for the faint heart. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! That said, we can do our very best to address those folks who have physical limitations such as the strobes or fog machines and when you schedule please bring it to our attention and DO remind the staff when you arrive about your request. SECOND: We have reserved Sunday for a lights on show with minimal scares Q: When is it? A: We are open from Friday Oct 4th through Halloween! Fridays 7pm-10pm Saturdays 5pm-10pm Sundays are Lights for kids and scaredy cats 2pm -5pm Q: “How scary is it”? A: Well that’s a loaded question because what scares the pants off of you may not scare others. Q: “How big is it”? And what usually goes along with that is “How long does it take”? A: This is our biggest yet. We have it figured a little over 1,000 sq ft! For perspective that is bigger than the first floors on most Scotia village homes, which is the village the Haunted Hollow happens to be in. So, how long? Another loaded question because there are those who take their time and thoroughly enjoy the scares and work that went into the details and costumes, they may take up to 10 minutes and that’s ok because we love it when people appreciate the hundreds of hours and expense that goes into this! Then there are others who are just freaked out or just want to get through it for whatever reason and they could get through in like two minutes, but they won’t remember much! Q: Do I need a reservation? A: Not really, but we sure appreciate it when we know someone is coming so we encourage it. Q: Why don’t you just publish the address? A: Because the address is also our residence, and as such we have to be a bit wary of just putting it out there in social media. Once you call and request it then we are happy to give it to you and help you with directions is needed. We can say that it is nestled in the quaint village of Scotia NY. Q. It has been free every other year you’ve done it, so why are you charging? A. We love this question, though no really sure anyone is really asking it, but we are asking for a donation for a young mother and her baby and fiancé who are facing incredible financial challenges as she recovers from her second bout with Leukemia. After her bone marrow transplant in Boston and being quarantined for several weeks she is recovering nicely and we are all grateful and thankful for that. But while she was down and not out, the bills kept coming and her fiancé was working as best he could while taking care of their baby and travelling back and forth to see his love. It is a wonderful story of strength and commitment and that is the reason we are asking for a small donation. Of course we will accept any amount if someone feels moved to do more, we are only asking for a small amount from each so that we may bless her family in some small way. If you have ANY questions, please
