FARMERS INSURANCE CO. : My Mother who is 95 years old, at home with Hospice daily care and may have 30-60 days left on this earth and sleeps most of her remaining days ,and is pain from cancer and old age. She lives in Morton,WA. a very small old logging town with no stop lights, one food store, a bank and a post office. She and her late husband bought this home in 1989 a small but nice rambler ,and have never had a claim on her home owners policy, nothing ! Well sometime during the night of Sept. 20, 2014 the huge fish tank broke and dumped all the water onto the living room rug, my mother did not notice it until Sunday night, there was nothing she could do about it until Monday as there are no businesss in Morton, nearest town is 2 hours away. She called her FARMERS INS. AGENT.in Chehalis, WA. MONICA DAILEY 360-748-0268. Monica told her if she files a claim her rates will go up in NOV., and asked why she waited 3 days to contact anyone, and needed to go out and get estimates for water damage, and gave my mother a wrong number to call about a claim. My mother being confused and full of pain did not know what to do next. She did not want to bother me do to my injury and I live so far from her. Now the way things use to be is you hire a Ins. Agent ,pay your money and they take care of things should there be any problems, well this agent dumped it all on a 95 year old lady dying of cancer and bed ridden, as far as a rate increase well thats not up to the agent thats up to the underwriter of the policy. Like my mother needs any of the crap right now, and I feel the agent should step up to the plate and handle this, instead of treating my mother as a yearly claims hazard, NO CLAIMS SINCE THEY BOUGHT THE HOME IN 1989, IST CLAIM OF A VERY MINOR DAMAGE Well the CEO of Farmers can expect a letter and a phone call from a pissed off Veteran, this is not how you handle or take care of your customers. Right or Wrong ? I feel bad as I always come to my mothers rescue ,but now in deep hurt myself I can do nothing, and that my friend hurts me.
