FARMING Australian Voice understands and supports the critical role that farming and farmers play in the Australian fabric. Australian Voice proposes that there be an immediate freeze on the sale of all farming properties that have been taken into possession by mortgagees. Australian Voice proposes the urgent establishment of a Federal Development Bank that will source funds at wholesale institutional rates, assess the business cases that lower funding costs provide to farmers and determine the amount of financial assistance needed to return the properties to their original owners. Australian Voice proposes an immediate ban on the sale of farms to overseas corporations or foreign nationals unless there is an Australian entity that is a major shareholder.
