FAST MORE IN SHABAAN Narrated Abu Hurayrah (Rodiyallaahu anhu) that the Messenger of Allaah (Sollallaahu alaehi wa sallam) said: “Deeds are presented (to Allaah) on Mondays and Thursdays and I like my deeds to be presented when I am fasting.” - Al-Tirmidhi, No.747 I think most of us fast these days [i.e Monday and Thursday], if you dont try and be doing it, atleast once in a while. Usaamah bin Zayd (Rodiyallaahu anhu) said: I said, O Messenger of Allaah, I do not see you fasting in any other month like you fast in Shabaan. He (Sollallaahu alaehi wa sallam) said, That is a month to which people do not pay attention, between Rajab and Ramadan {i.e month of Shabaan}, AND ITS A MONTH IN WHICH DEEDS ARE LIFTED UP TO THE LORDS OF THE WORLDS. I like for my deeds to be lifted up when I am fasting. - Al-Nasaai. From the Two hadeeth above, we can see that our deeds are presented to Allaah twice in a week [Mondays and Thursdays], and once in a year [in the month of Shabaan]. And the best of Mankind (Sollallaahu alaehi wa sallam) used to fast on these days and month that deeds are been presented to Allaah, lets we too try and fast more...more...&...more days during Shabaan. Note: In the second Hadeeth quoted above, I wrote some words in CAPITAL letters. # beeni I want those that believe Allaah is not above His Throne but everywhere to see it well without using glasses, because that line is a back-breaker to them . Our prophet and his Sohaabah never had such aqeedah that Allaah mixes with His creation. # Subhaanallaah! And Allaah is the Granter of success. Assalaamu alaekum warahmatullaahiwabarakaatuh!
