FATAL ROAD CRASH – CLYDEBANK A 24 year-old man has died, and a 25 year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a road crash in Clydebank on Sunday 26 January 2014. Around 2300 hours on Sunday night, the two men were travelling eastbound in a Suzuki car on the A82 Great Western Road, near to the retail park, when it appears that the vehicle lost control, left the road and struck a tree. Emergency services attended, but the 24 year-old passenger died at the scene. The 25 year-old driver of the car was taken by ambulance to the Western Infirmary in Glasgow where he is being treated for chest injuries. Hospital staff describe his condition as critical. Inspector David Carballo of the Road Policing Department based at Helen Street in Glasgow said today: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of this crash. “I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash, or who has information that may assist police enquiries to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
