FATHOMS BAR & GRILLE RATING: C On this dreary Sunday afternoon, Tony the Cheese decided to drive down from Boston to take our friend, Big Daddy L out for his birthday. Another mutual friend, Farmer J joined us too. Big Daddy suggested Fathoms so thats where we went. When we arrived, we asked to be seated on the deck. Though it was a cloudy day, it felt good to be outside. Our server was somewhat bubbly, which was fine, but she was somewhat forgetful (I will get to that later). We were brought our menus and were asked if we wanted drinks. Tony the Cheese and I ordered vodka, soda, and a splash of cranberry, Big Daddy a Mimosa, and Farmer J, a vodka and coke. He asked for another cocktail (my mind is a blank on what it was), our server had no clue what it was either (lol). She thought it was a beer. It didnt matter, they didnt have it! We looked at the menu and were ready to place our orders when our server informed us that the lunch menu is not served on Sunday. Odd! Big Daddy L order the lobster salad roll. It came with fries and coleslaw. Big Daddy seemed to enjoy it. Tony the Cheese and Farmer J ordered a special, pork tenderloin with asparagus. Farmer J seemed to enjoy his. He even remarked how much asparagus there was on his plate. However, Tony the Cheese was not that impressed. His meal looked undercooked. When Big Daddy L and Farmer J looked at it, they said it looked fine. I disagreed! To me, some of his pieces did seem raw. I know pork shouldnt be well-done, but this little porker seemed alive! And if you eat something not cooked to your liking, you may end up with a BOO BOO BELLY! He left those pieces on his plate. I ordered a bacon bleu burger. It came with fries and a pickle. Though the burger was tasty, I asked for my fries to be well-done. Well they werent! Not pleased. It doesnt take a genius to cook fries, does it?? Also when Farmer J ordered a coke with his meal, our server brought him another drink instead. Ms. Bubbly brought it back and got him his coke. Tony the Cheese, Big Daddy L, and Farmer J also had dessert. Tony the Cheese had the Turtle Cheese Cake which he inhaled, Big Daddy L had the Molten Cake, which he too, inhaled. Farmer J order a special, a Fried Cheese Cake which our server recommended. One problem... she forget to put the order in! When Farmer J asked where his dessert was, she giggled and went off to get it. Another problem with his Fried Cheese Cake, NO CHEESE! It tasted just like fried dough. Not impressed! Ive been to Fathoms a number of times and I have to say, this is not one of my favorite places. Though it has a great view of the pier, I dont mind going there for a drink and a few appetizers, just not for a meal. Tata for now my Hunger Friends!
