FB Friends: Cherie and I are leaving Colorado after 3½ years and moving back to Florida!! I have accepted a job as the Director of Human Resources at the Lakeland Ledger newspaper in Lakeland starting this Monday!! This job is a great fit for me since I worked at the Sun-Sentinel newspaper in Ft. Lauderdale back in the late 80’s and early 90’s and always enjoyed the newspaper work environment. We have had a great time living in the Colorado High Country!! We will miss Eagle and Vail, the mountains, the beautiful summers and will even miss the 6+ months of winter…believe it or not it was a nice change of pace after living 45+ years in the Florida sunshine. We have spent our time here really exploring the state so we have no regrets moving back “home”, except for all the great friends we have made here!! Cherie and I are both very excited to move back and we will probably end up living in the Tampa area. Lakeland is only about 30 minutes east of Tampa headed toward Orlando on I-4 so the commute will be OK. Living in Tampa will allow us to be close to our middle son Tyler and his wife Lauren. We will also be close to my sisters and Mom in Orlando. Cherie’s brother lives part-time in the area and her sister and niece also live in Orlando. We will also be able to attend USF football games again (we are both alumni) and also many Lightning hockey games as Tyler works there so we have an in for good tickets!! We are looking forward to time again on the beach and in the boat (that we left with Tyler when we moved) and for the new adventures that this move will bring. Moving back to the Sunshine State means we will have come full circle (after moves to live in Boca Raton, Daytona Beach and Eagle) as we both grew up in the Tampa Bay area in Clearwater. We are blessed to have a great opportunity to move back!! All the best , Rick and Cherie
