FB fam and friends ...Let pray for these families KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — At least three people were killed and 23 injured after two school buses collided near here Tuesday afternoon, authorities say. Knox County emergency crews responded to the accident, which flipped one bus onto its side on Asheville Highway east of Knoxville at 2:50 p.m. Officials have not released the names or ages of the victims Knoxville police said several students were injured and were transported to area hospitals. Three were taken to UT Medical Center. East Tennessee Childrens Hospital was treating 17 patients with non-life threatening injuries, a spokesman said. According to Knox County Schools officials, the buses involved serve Chilhowee Intermediate School and Sunnyview Primary School. They said they will contact the parents of the students involved directly. Asheville Highway was shut down after the accident and will be for several hours.
