FB is really confused tonight, I logged in on a KNOWN device! Now it would be great if it was my desktop, but for some reason the monitor has decided that it doesnt want to play with me, so the laptop will do nicely. At least it is finally a full sized keyboard instead of the hunt and peck of my hand-held! I was thinking that maybe I should use the laptop anyway for my picture downloads. Decision made. The flights were good. Hit some of the nasty weather north of Taiwan, but arrived LAX only 45 min late and made the connection to PHX with no problem. Im purposely trying to extend the wake time this evening to try to reset from the 14 hr time difference. Its good to be home and see the kitten folk. They had great care not only from my usual neighbor pet sitter but also my friend, Dina. Both who tell me that the visiting black cat from the last few months seems to think he now belongs in the house. Boy is he going to be surprised that THAT woman is back. Thank you all for comments and support for my journey - it was one that will be felt for quite some time. The actual stories of those who lived through the Pol Pot regime (although most of their families did not), the sight of Angkor Wat and all the other beautiful pieces of history, the living history of the current Wats/Temples/Pagodas, the elephants, the people, the food - and yes, the ever increasing awareness of how much need there is in the world such as the simple gift/right of literacy that many do not have. I cant imagine not being able to share my thoughts on paper or online. Yet as I discussed with a man over breakfast this morning - many in this world have only a functioning level of speaking knowledge, with reading and writing only a dream. No way of capturing their own thoughts or history. No way to navigate in a strange area (no way to read a map or street signs - let alone navigate a transportation system) and no way of securing employment beyond basic skills. We in the States have incredible opportunities. Please encourage those around you to actually take note of all that we so often take for granted. Ill be asking myself more deeply, how can I put those gifts to the best service?
