FBI - SPECIAL SECRET AGENT Around 14 years ago, I was being interviewed by the FBI for a Special Secret Agent position. As I walked into the room and I gave a big smile to the mature white woman and the very mature white man who were ready to conduct the interview, they asked me to sit down in a very comfortable chair, and I did. The chair was so soft that I started playfully bouncing in the sofa/chair (ha!) and I said this is a really confy chair. While exchanging looks with each other, they smiled at me. The interview started: FBI Man: Do you have a problem carrying a gun? Me: No. FBI Woman: How many miles can you run in 30 minutes? Me: 4.5 The questioning went on for 20 minutes, and then they asked a big question: FBI Man: Would you have a problem renouncing to any loyalty you may owe to the Dominican flag and only pledging loyalty to the USA flag? Me: But if I am willing to renounce to my origins what makes you think I would be loyal to you? FBI Woman: That is a good question Anny and we are unable to determine the outcome of that question but pledging alliance to the USA flag is required. Me: Understood. They became highly interested in me. In an attempt to convince me to apply for the position, they explained that they receive more than 80,000 application every year, and I immediately qualified to fall within the 5% that will be accepted in the FBI. They emphasized the benefits, the power that comes with the position, the perks, and so on and so forth. (In the meantime, I was scratching my head thinking why the FBI was so interested in recruiting me??) Me: What do you see in me that makes you want me so much? FBI Man: You are an attorney in two different countries, you are a woman, a single mom, a Latina, you speak two languages, you are personable... Me: That really sounds good. (Then, I turned my attention to the FBI woman and asked). Do you have a daughter? FBI Woman: yes Me: Would you recommend your daughter to enlist in the FBI and why? FBI Woman: (she was stunned and took her time to answer). Yes, I would recommended to my daughter because.... I never felt so wanted in my life!! :) And even though I never applied, it was a quite fascinating experience. Life has always been good!! Let your weekend be felt in your veins!! :) :)
