FBK SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 God does amazing things. Habakkuk Chapter 1 One thing youll admire about Habakkuk is he is honest and straight to the point. When he asked God, how long? He did not sugarcoat it. Yet you will also be amazed that God has answered his questions directly also. And when God answers, He gave more than we can ask for. He told Habakkuk, if you think Im not doing anything, Im not working, then be utterly amazed as you see how I work that you will find unbelievable. Then God described how He is grooming Babylon, though a godless country, yet God will use to bring His justice. In our life, we have questions, yes. But always believe in God that He is always working in us and for us, and His purpose will be accomplished in our lives. FBK SUNDAY, September 28 Forsake your pride. Habakkuk Chapter 2 All of the surrounding neighbors who were super powers at that time would fall in ruin, as no one expected. Babylon was a growing empire that has the rule over everything. In this chapter, God answers Habakkuk’s question. He urges everyone to be patient and ultimately trust in Him. Behold, as for the proud one, His soul is not right within him; but the righteous will live by his faith” (2:4). To live by faith means to totally rely on God to get you through a situation. Be dependent on God today with whatever challenges you maybe facing. FBK MONDAY, September 29 Praising amidst the storm. Habakkuk Chapter 3 Habakkuk gives God the glory and praise for faithfully responding to his questions, “LORD, I have heard the report about You and I fear. O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy” (3:2). This is a humbling statement that we all need to make whenever we are faced with difficult problems. To always praise the Sovereign God amidst the storm.
