FC Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino has conceded that he will most likely lose his job at the end of the campaign after his side were ruled out of the title race. The Catalans conceded a last minute equaliser against Getafe, a draw which leaves the club officially out of this season’s title race with two games remaining. Lafita twice equalised for Getafe to earn a 2-2 draw after Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez had respectively put Barça ahead. Martino has been under intense pressure since losing in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid and being knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid. Official confirmation of Barça ’s failed title chase has brought Martino’s sacking a step closer, something which the Argentine himself has conceded. “There are times when one feels that he has not fit the bill and that another chance is not deserved,” Martino conceded after the match to reporters. Luis Enrique is heavily tipped to succeed the Argentine, with sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta singling out the Celta Vigo manager as his preferred choice.
