FEAR? Did you know that Ive never overcome it? Instead, Ive learned to just used it. Let me explain... I was more afraid to work for a company for 40 years and either get fired or retire broke than I was to pick up the phone and call a prospect. Im still afraid...who isnt of the UNKNOWN? Its just that I know more about the unknown than I did 34 years ago. I pretty much know the outcome before I even pick up the phone or follow up with a lead or a prospect. Its through this repetition that Ive found comfort and success. Most of the clients I coach do not embrace this repetition. They avoid it . They believe that its beneath them to do the mundane tasks associated with building a business. I was never too proud to work or even try a new technique. My Mother owned her own Beauty Salon and she worked 12 hours a day. My Father owned his own Printing Business and had a pager tied to him and went to the plant almost 7 days a week. You see I saw hard work. I wasnt afraid of it. What scared me about HARD WORK though, was that it really wasnt making anyone I knew rich, it was just making them a living. So, that scared me. I was afraid if I didnt change then Id end up running a printing press until I was 65 for $15 an hour like all the guys I grew up with. I wanted more. So, I used that hard work mentality to TRY other ways to make money. So, I used my fear to grow. Not just emotionally, spiritually and intellectually. But, financially as well. Dont avoid your fears. Embrace them. Use your fears to achieve your goals and dreams, Dont let fear keep you from them!
