FEAR FACTS: Are Spirit Attachments Common? The possibility of a spirit attaching to an individual, although rare, does happen. These attachments are not limited to paranormal investigators or haunted locations. A spirit can attach itself to a host individual, but the individual may not be aware of the attachment. Attachments can happen suddenly and usually do not cause immediate harm to the host although over time they can. In the unlikely event that you experience a spirit attachment and do nothing about it (such as a cleansing by a qualified member of the clergy or a legitimate medium) it can begin to manifest itself in ways that are negative to the host. An individual could unknowingly begin to lead the life of that spirit. The host may start to manifest the symptoms of that spirits dying moments. Some individuals are believed to be more susceptible to attracting spirits than others. Hospital are considered a likely place to unknowingly invite an attachment. It is also possible to experience an attachment when in a state of high emotional stress or in a state of unconsciousness such as from an accident or during an operation. These states both alter the level of mental activity of the person and, in essence, lower their guard. Some individuals with lower energy fields can be more susceptible to attachments while people with stronger energy fields are less likely to attract a spirit attachment.
