FEAR: Residents Flee Over Robbery Attacks: FEAR: Residents Flee Over Robbery Attacks Kola Eke Ogiugo — Oct 21, 2014 | Leave a comment Hundreds of residents of Ubulu-Unor Community, Ogwashi-Uku axis of Delta State, may have deserted their homes over incessant robbery attacks they witness in the community. It was reliably gathered that there have been cases of robbery attacks on the unsuspecting residents of the community as in most cases, the hoodlums allegedly raped married women during their operations. Only recently, the rampaging rubbers sacked the entire community after a two hours robbery operation where they allegedly killed two security guards who had attempted to rob shoulders with them. Apart from robbery cases, residents of the community have appealed to the state government to come to their aid by repairing the failed areas of the road; the residents who spoke to our correspondent and did not want their names in the print said that the road has deteriorated so much that accessing their offices and homes have become very difficult. According to the respondent, the road is a major road linking Ubulu-Unor, Ubulu-Uku, Ashama and several other communities within Aniocha South Local Government Area to the headquarters of the local government, emphasizing that the road is the only road through which farmers in the communities transport their farm products to Urban areas especially to Ogwashi-Uku. The residents said, “For instance, Ogwashi-Uku High Court is located off this road just as the general hospital is also located in the same area, for staff of these two offices passing through the road to their offices have become a terrible experience, but there is hardly anywhere they can pass to their offices unless something is done about it. But in her reaction, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu who spoke on the robbery incidences, disclosed that the police have mobilized a team of detectives to the community with a view to ensuring that the robbers terrorizing the community are brought to book, she said that the police will do everything possible to arrest those who have been behind the nefarious activities. « Previous Article KIDNAP: Police Arrest Suspect, Rescue Boy, 7 Next Article » Respect Ceasefire Deal, Obama Warns FG, Boko Haram Original link Read More goo.gl/knlMTm (y) ✍comment ☏share
