FEATURED BUSINESS - Voyager Inn Geoff Richardson & Tom Richardson and their wives Tracy Sloan and Sarah-Jane Valiquette are all partners in the business.They bought the landmark 2 years ago and had no hotel experience but Geoff says that a lot hard work and persistence has helped them succeed. The business employs 25 people. One of their signature events is Rib Fest. Geoff and Tom met a guy affectionately called Jack the Ribber at a DIA conference in Thunder Bay who sold them on the idea of hosting such an event ... so they imported the idea! The festival has a free kid zone, live music, beer garden, and a dunk tank to name just a few activities and attendance has grown to 10,000!! Each year they donate proceeds from ticket sales to different charities. Most people will also know the brothers for all their amazing work in the Down Town North Bay where they bought the Belmont Building and completely refurbished the facility. They now have 5 businesses as tenants as well as apartments. Theyre strong supporters of the downtown and their community. Their newest project (cause they werent busy enough!) is a campground on Lakeshore Drive. Interesting Facts: - Voyager Inn is approx. 70,000 square feet - Geoff loves musical theatre and has been in several productions - Geoff sings and was convinced to sing Under the Sea dressed as a lobster at the tatoo for 22 Wing North Bay
