FEATURED PETS: Ravishing Ramona and her sister Beetrice came to us through sad circumstances. The two-year-olds were both discovered abandoned on the balcony of an apartment. It is truly heart-breaking to know that these two very sweet girls were so callously discarded by their former guardian, which unfortunately appears to have been the case. Things looked up for these sisters, though, after they spent time basking in the love, and safety, of one of our foster homes. Ramona has a silky, shiny ebony coat with a white bib and belly, as well as white front and rear mitts. She has pale yellow eyes and elegant white whiskers. Ramona is just slightly smaller than her sister, and her coat is short hair. Beetrice has a lovely black coat with white accents similar to her sister: on her bib and belly. Beetrice appears just slightly larger than Ramona and her fur is medium length. It is easy to see that they are sisters – they look almost exactly alike. Beetrice has pale green eyes, whereas Ramona’s are more yellow. Perhaps because of what they had to endure, Ramona and Beatrice are closely bonded. As such, they must be adopted together as we would never dream of separating them. They are frequently observed in their kennel nuzzling each other and snoozing in the comfort of one another’s arms. They almost seem protective of the other, however, neither is standoffish. Ramona is a bit cautious and that is understandable. Both of them purr when visitors stop by and they seem genuinely interested in making new human friends. Ramona and Beatrice are available at an adjusted adoption fee. Adopting a bonded pair has many advantages: they typically settle quickly into their new forever home, and they have each other for company. We love all our temporary shelter guests, but those that have experienced this kind of neglect hold a special place in our hearts.
