SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Establishes and maintains a variety of files that includes numerous subject headings and subheadings. Cross-references files as required by federal record-keeping guidelines. Conducts extensive searches for records. Obtains from the files, correspondence or related subject matter and assembles material for proper action. Assembles records for proper transfer to the records holding area. Maintains an updated master file of all administrative records. Works with sensitive and/or classified documents covered by special procedures and regulations. Provides clerical support for the efficient operation of the division. GS-4: 1 year of general experience OR 2 years of successfully completed education above the high school level. GS-3: 6 months of general experience OR 1 year of successfully completed education above the high school level. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background security investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicants successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination. OTHER: Incumbent is required, as an incidental duty, to operate a government-owned or leased motor vehicle, in the performance of duties, therefore, a valid drivers license is required.
