FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES STUDENT UNION GOVERNMENT INDEPENDENT STUDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION (ISEC) Consequent to the inauguration of the Independent Student Electoral Commission (ISEC) of SUG with the mandate to conduct free, fair and credible elections, the commission has therefore advertised the following vacant positions. EXECUTIVE POSITION PRESIDENT N7000 VICE-PRESIDENT N5000 SECRETARY GENERAL N5000 FINANCIAL SECRETARY N4000 TREASURER N4000 PUBLIC RELATION OFFICER N4000 DIRECTOR OF WELFARE N4000 DIRECTOR OF SPORT N4000 DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL N4000 ASST SECRETARY GENERAL N3000 ASST DIRECTOR OF SPORT N3000 ASST DIRCTOR OF SOCIAL N3000 ELIGIBILITY TO CONTEST FOR FUPRE SUG GENERAL ELECTION 1. All post in the executive position shall be opened to both male and female of the Institution. 2. A member who is a psychiatric patient or who has previously suffered proven mental disorder shall not be eligible to contest forth-coming SUG election. All contestants must submit their medical report for screening exercise. 3. A minimum cumulative CGPA of 3.0 is required for the eligibility of any candidate vying for position in the executive council. 4. A student who is not duly registered for the current academic session shall not be eligible for election. 4. Candidate vying for the position of the President and Secretary General of the union shall have a maximum of one academic session to the end of his/her academics programme in the University. 6. All memebers are eligible to vote but only member who has completed one academic session can be voted for. 7. A student who has been found guilty of misconduct by the Disciplinary Committee or a duly constituted body in the University shall be disqualified from running in an election. 8. Any ordinary member holding an office in any society, club or organization in whatever form is not eligible to contest an election under the union. 9. Any officer of the Union or member of the SHA who desires a 2nd term shall resign from his/her office not later than 14days before the election. Any ordinary member holding an office and wishes to contest must resign at least 14days to the election. 10. Any person previously rusticated within the university or any offence or previously prosecuted and convicted in any court of law shall not be eligible to be elected into the congress. Date for the election will be notified to the general public in due time.
