FEED THEM ((-: The 119 barangays and the municipal government of Miagao conducted a disaster readiness seminar. It was organized in four batches at the Garin Farm in San Joaquin last July. Every barangay has three (3) representatives paying P1,200.00 each which was turned over to the municipal treasurer for a total of P428,400.00. The money which supposedly should go to Miagaowanons if only the seminar was held in the municipality went to you know who. It seems its better to feed the pig there than allow the Miagaowanon businessmen to take home a little profit. But this is not the whole story. According to inside sources, the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC) was very swift in the conduct of the seminar that they forgot to prepare the documents for the payment due the Garin Farm. When its time to collect the payment, the money could not be released without the necessary supporting documents. And what complicates the problem is that bidding was necessary with that amount and there was no bidding ever conducted. The members of the local BAC are once again faced with this queer scenario as much as they could no longer conduct the bidding for the law is explicit that no bidding shall be conducted once the project is finished. For his part, Mayor Mac is aging fast, they say, and losing precious sleep and hair over this latest brouhaha under his lair. When will his problems end or when will his problems leave him? ((-:
