FEELINGS CAN FLUTUATE BUT LOVE IS CONSTANT!! One of the challenges people have when they have a wrong definition of love or a misconception about love especially when they define love as a feeling that they usually think that love is gone once the feeling is gone. For instance, a lady gets married only to discover that her husband is not as cool as she thinks, he snores at night, leaves the room all messed, he is not as cool as she thought and rarely supports her emotionally and physically, hence she becomes very upset with him. Sometimes, he talks to her without respect and he always criticizes her effort. However, after a period of time, she discovers that she feels nothing for him any more, so she thinks she does not love him again. Is her love for him gone in actuality? Many quit their relationship at this point. In this case, the fact is that the feeling of love could be gone but love is not lost. It is in her power to choose to keep loving him in spite of her feeling. This does not mean she should keep enduring the negative attitude of the husband, rather, she should create an opportunity for them to talk things over. Love is a choice we make to do the best for our mates even if we do not receive a mutual response from him or her. Love could be expressed through feeling, as a matter of fact, love becomes boring when the wonderful feeling of love is missing. However, the good news is that consistent loving actions will surely bring back the feeling of love. Thus, it is more important to focus on the loving actions which will sustain the love feelings than to focus on how consistent you feeling for each other is. It is impossible to feel loved all the time no matter how wonderful your partner is. LOVE IN ACTION “Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self.
