FIGHT FOR, AND KEEP, THE FAITH Jesus gave up his life for us, - TopicsExpress

FIGHT FOR, AND KEEP, THE FAITH Jesus gave up his life for us, but Jesus never gave up his faith for us. I had to persuade you to fight for faith, and not for holiness or for doctrines. Fighting is good, when you fight the good fight: The good fight is the fight of faith. Three scriptures speaking about the good fight of faith are listed below: 1. “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called, and has professed a good profession before many witnesses” (1 Timothy 6:12). 2. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). As Paul kept the faith, so was Peter also; for Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith will not fail, even in the face of Satan having interest in him. 3. “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write to you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints” (Jude 1:3). All these scriptures above are to impress on you that we are called to fight for the faith in Christ Jesus. I once spoke of the scripture in Revelation 13:7, saying that the Beast who will war with the saints will overcome them. However, I am made to understand that though the beast is to overcome them in the physical realm, the saints are to overcome the beast in the spiritual. The victory which the beast would hold is different from the victory which the saints will keep in that battle. The victory of the beast over the saints is only to lead into captivity and to kill with the sword, but the victory of the saints over the beast is to keep their faith and patience: As it is written, “He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity: he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.” (Revelation 13:10) Remember when I said, convert your dominion into victory and overcome; You can do that by keeping your faith. Your faith is your victory: As it is written, “For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:4-5) Therefore, when you see a man or woman walking in true faith, do not judge him or her as unholy or a sinner, but check first to see if he or she has faith: If he or she has faith in Christ Jesus, then know he or she has overcome the world. “Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:5). “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus” (Revelation 14:12). In the days of Joshua leading the Children into the Promised Land, it was land they were fighting for; God exhorted him to be courageous and strong because he would have to fight for the Land which God has already given to them. But in the days we are in as believers in Christ, we are not fighting for land or for politics or for money or for earthly treasures or for the governments of this world; Rather we are fighting for faith – Ours is a good fight because we fight and contend for the faith. We don’t mind Satan’s antics, but we mind to keep our faith so that our faith will not fail. To be crucified with Christ is to give up your life in order to keep your faith forever: Abel the first person to be killed is a witness of one who’s life was laid on the altar, but he went with his faith into eternal life: For by faith, he being dead speaks and lives (Hebrews 11:4). Again, Jesus gave up his life for us, but Jesus never gave up his faith for us. Therefore, let us go and meet with him and be crucified with him, by giving up our lives to keep his faith in him. Where do we meet with his faith? We will meet with him at Galatians two twenty: As it is written, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). There in Galatians two twenty, we will not live by our faith or trust in him, but rather we will live by his own faith in us and in himself. His faith becomes our faith, and we come in the unity of the faith of the Son of God (Ephesians 4:13): There one faith, one Lord and one baptism (Ephesians 4:5). Therefore, we dont have up to two faiths, but only one faith because we have Lord: It is one faith we all are fighting for. You can please God without life, you can please God with money, you can please God without doctrines, but there is something you cannot please God without; that is faith: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6) Therefore your faith in Christ is your greatest treasure to keep, if you ever one to please God and to overcome those stronger than you. “Nevertheless when the Son of man comes, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8)
