FIJI FASHION WEEK, Suva, Fiji Islands. Kumul squad...tumora chol!! Fiji Fashion Week as some of you may know was brought forward to May from September to coincide with the international Fashion Week Calendar as well as the soft opening of the exquisite Grand Pacific Hotel (will take pics and post tumora)..so the original pieces for FFW are currently being made overseas on target. However, not to let down FFW, as I had committed to keep emerging as a Designer, by the grace of GOD, I was able to come up with 14 designs. To be able to have them all made in 8 days is a miracle! Because of the obvious time constraint some pieces may not come together as well as I anticipated however majority look more than fine to me. I am grateful. It is amazing that these people who are one of the most established garment manufacturers even agreed to assist me! 😦 Actually, when I approached them, the guy in charge looked at me and with a somewhat wry smile. ..and look of utter disbelief ...said Do you know you have 7.5 working days to FFW? I said, Yes. I showed him my designs the next day and he said, no time ...I said, I will simplify everything. He said, OK we do our best. The rest is history. I took delivery of all garments at 5.30pm yesterday afternoon. Hada, my little princess, and I, left Nadi this morning and arrived at 12 noon in Suva. Further, it was a blessing that the models in my group were available for fittings. So tonight I pressed all garments...and it brought me back to 1997, when I had to press all drycleaned garments...humbling I must say. Hada cleaned some of our native necklaces. She fell asleep and I decided to post this especially for the benefit of the Kumul tribe and squad in Kumul nation. 💚💛💟 Where there is a will there is a way! Thank you all for your words of encouragement and love and support towards PNGianKala. Wear your Culture! We have some incredible shirts being made right now. So keep an eye out for those my Kumul brothers.💙 I wish to thank my Team in POM and Lae in Susan Muir and Ao Seri Nou for their love and support.💜 I dedicate some pieces to my sinagu lalokauna, Mrs. Nanai Rau, my loving mum, at Vabukori village. 💖 #Courage is everything. Why cant FB allow me to tag more than 50 persons??😣
