FILE UNDER: I Thought Subliminal Advertising was Hoaxy Weve all heard of subliminal advertising in movies. Youre at the movies with your friends and you never realize that advertisers have placed the phrases Eat Popcorn or Drink Coca-Cola on a single frame of the film, barely long enough for your subconscious to take note while you remain unaware why you had to get up and buy popcorn and a Coke. Well, I just noticed some subliminal something or other in this trailer and wonder if you can give me your theories why the producers of this horror film placed the Bible chapter JOHN 11 onscreen like a subliminal message. John 11, by the way, is the Lazarus story. I know that. But why place the passage there? To get us to go grab our Bibles off the shelf to read the source material? It happens very fast at the 2:08 mark. Totally weird.
