FINA Water Polo World Cups 2014: teams target Kazan 2015! ESP_wpThe 16th FINA Womens Water Polo World Cup kicked off on August 12 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia with eight teams competing: Australia, China, Hungary, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain and USA. Spain and South Africa are playing this tournament for the first time. On Day 1 in Group A, World champions Spain had an easy start against Singapore, winning 34-3 while 2013 World League winners China upset Russia and the home crowd by just one goal, 14-13. In Group B, world silver medallists Australia defeated world number 3 Hungary, scoring 10-7 while the defending World Cup champions USA crushed South Africa 18-1.
