FINALIST FOR DURBANS DUMBEST CRIMINAL At around 14:00 today a male suspect was arrested for suspected theft of a denim shirt by security at a store in the La Lucia mall. The store staff locked him in a store room while they waited for the police to arrive. When police arrived they found the suspect was no longer in the room. It was then noticed the suspect had removed the ceiling board and entered the ceiling and escaped into the roof. Later this evening at 21:00 mall security heard noises coming from the ceiling in a passage way and upon investigation found the suspect in the roof. He had become stuck between the ceiling boards and a metal pipe. Suspect was exhausted and out of breathe and filthy from crawling around inside the ceiling. He was rescued from the roof and handed over to SAPS
