FIRE PREVENTION PROGRAM TUESDAY NIGHT IN HOMETOWN. WHERE: Hometown Volunteer Fire Company #1 WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. Children in Rush Township will learn how to get out of a burning house when a smoke trailer visits the township this Tuesday evening. Township Supervisor Jeanine Motroni said the trailer, which is jointly owned by fire companies in the Hazleton area, will visit Rush Elementary School during the day. During the program, the trailer will be at the Hometown Fire Company, where firefighters will get inside with children to show them how to deal with smoke and fire in a home and the safest way to get out. The fire company will also be giving away 50 smoke detectors and 25 combination smoke/carbon detectors donated by Kidde Fire, a North Carolina-based manufacturer of that equipment. "We will also help install them in homes of elderly residents," Motroni said.
